Testosterone is in very common use today and deserves some discussion if considering vasectomy reversal surgery.

Testosterone is used for replacement therapy in men with low testosterone and is used by some because they are 40 and they feel 40; tired, and perhaps have a little extra weight, a bit less of a sex drive, etc. It can be used for body building and it can be an important medication for those who are not making enough from their own testicles.
When you are taking testosterone, you are telling your testicles to relax and not work so hard. Testicles make sperm and they make testosterone. If you give them another source of testosterone, it can signal that they do not need to make their own testosterone or sperm.
Everyone seems to be a little different though in how they respond. For some men, the testosterone they are taking has little or no impact. For others, it can stop almost all sperm production. When preparing for your surgery, it is a good idea to stop this medication if possible. There are alternatives that can be used while trying to conceive. After you have become pregnant, there is no harm in resuming the testosterone at your previous dose.
