Before the Procedure – Have your husband schedule time away from strenuous work activities or other work. Have him shave before coming. This is far easier than having to be shaved right before the surgery. Most men do not read directions let alone follow them. Bring frozen water bottles and a cooler.

Please be sure to accompany your husband to his procedure, as he should not be driving himself back to a hotel and most definitely should not be driving home after the surgery. If possible, plan to stay in town the night after his surgery to maximize his comfort and minimize his activity.

During the Procedure – The surgery is performed under local anesthesia with mild sedation, so your partner should be very relaxed and comfortable throughout. It typically takes about 2-2.5 hours. With rare exception, everyone tells us this was so much more comfortable than their vasectomy.

After Surgery – Try to have your mate lay flat and resist moving very much. He can shower the day following surgery but he should not submerge the incisions in a tub, pool, or other body of water, until his surgical incisions are completely healed. Have him use ice and lie flat as much as possible. Bruising and swelling is a 48 hour process. If there is no swelling or discomfort the next morning, continue with the rest and ice as it can occur later if he starts doing too much. Encourage him to avoid heavy lifting and sexual activity for a full 30 days after the surgery. Make it up to him later.

When I read testimonials, my skeptical mind wonders exactly how much they were paid or discounted to give a testimonial. Especially on sites where they are all done at the time of surgery and appear to be in office. I also hate to give reviews on anything, but Dr. Daniel and his staff deserve the few moments it takes to show my gratitude and give my testimonial. Dr. Daniel is the true image of a good physician. He and his staff fully answered my questions, put my mind at ease, and gave me real expectations and descriptions of the procedure and recovery. It is important that you have a care taker the day of surgery to drive you around and help you that first day, because you will need to rest the first 24 hours. My mom was that person for me. She is in her 70's and after the procedure, Dr. Daniel personally escorted me via wheelchair in the pouring rain to our car to help her help me. My procedure was performed 13 years after my original vasectomy, so my expectations are tempered on the success of this operation. Dr. Daniel not only has great bedside manners, but also is a skilled physician. There are two ways I know this. The first can be seen by how well he closed the wounds that are necessary for this procedure. His wound closure is top notch and I have healed nicely. The second way I know he is a good physician requires a confession as a bad patient on my part. We are supposed to wait 30 days after surgery before we are allowed to release to allow for full healing. The nerd in me overcame my ability for self control and I bought a child's $35 microscope that has 1200x magnification (sperm are visible at 400-600x as well). I was able to see for myself if I had viable sperm, and was able to video them with my Iphone (google and youtube are a good thing). I want to thank Dr. Daniel and his team for a job well done.

We had a great experience with everyone! Everyone in the front office was so friendly and caring! Then we had the morning consult with Dr. Daniels and that went awesome! Very laid back and knowledgeable! Eased my fears! The surgery room was nice and comfortable and the procedure was virtually pain free. After surgery Dr. Daniel got me situated in a wheelchair and rolled me out to the office where he made sure to give my wife all the instructions on post OP care (cause I was a little loopy and would forget.) Loved the fact that he personally wheeled me and loaded me in the car. Followed instructions for post op icing for 2 days. No swelling and very little bruising and no pain at all. My wife looked at the stitches and said man he put those in good!! He said one side would prob heal before the other. It did. Specifically the right side healed faster. I saw Dr. Daniel for a reversal in January of 2025. I’d had a vasectomy around October of 2019. I was 32 at the time of my reversal. Once we arrived for the appointment, I paid the balance for the procedure and went straight back to meet the doctor. We talked for about an hour about the procedure and what to expect afterwards. He was not in a rush - I feel confident that he would have talked longer if I needed it. Once we were done, I was given a cocktail of oral meds and taken to the operating room. The meds were pretty effective at dulling the anxiety that you might expect would come from having someone approach your sensitive areas with a knife. It’s worth noting that I was very much alert and have a clear memory of the entire experience despite the meds. Many people say they slept through the whole thing - I dozed off briefly during the calmer moments but I wouldn’t look at this as an opportunity for a nap. I truly sweated through my shirt on the table from the stress and discomfort of the experience in the less calm moments that made up the majority of the experience, but it’s surgery. It’s not supposed to be a fun experience. And mine was likely worse due to the nature of my vasectomy. During the surgery, Dr. Daniel informed me that my vasectomy was one of the most severe he’d seen - the surgeon that did the vasectomy removed a significant portion of my vas. I became nervous for the whole investment as I watched Dr. Daniel search for creative solutions for holding such a short vas in a position where he could suture the two ends back together. I was truly worried that all hope was lost. I’m thankful that Dr. Daniel didn’t give up on my challenging case. I’m happy to report that my wife and I conceived early in May of 2025. In my mind, the reversal is successful at the point that sperm is able to flow through the vas and the conception is evidence of that success. I was very careful to follow the doctor’s directions for post-op care. Thanks to my wonderful wife, I was able to properly stay in bed for a whole week to recover. I would like to comment on my experience with my vasectomy reversal performed by Dr. Daniel on Jan 16th (8.5 years post vasectomy). First, I would like to say that his office staff was very professional and walked me through the initial process. I called a few times prior to the date of my procedure and they were able to answer my general questions. They ensured I understood what I needed to bring prior to the surgery and provided directions to the pharmacy to get the medications. As for Dr. Daniel, I must say I was pleased with selecting him to perform my reversal. Dr. Daniel and his gift of performing such a delicate surgery is a God send. My husband had his VR 18 years after a Vasectomy. Had procedure 22 days ago and we have a POSITIVE test!!! Now, we didn’t follow instructions given - OBVIOUSLY, but God has the final say, not us! I'm 8 days out from surgery and wanted to go ahead and write a review aimed at the men. I see lots of reviews about success and babies and my wife and I hope to update our review with that later but for the guys looking to have this done with Dr Daniels this review is for you. The practice and staff are awesome. If your worried or concerned about your procedure then worry no more. The office is clean and calm. The staff, only 3 including Dr Daniel himself, are beyond nice and comforting. Everything moved prompt and smooth. Dr Daniel doesn't rush or push anything during the pre op meeting. He's very down to earth and relatable. He takes time to answer any questions you may have and is very relaxed the entire time. He's still laid back and relaxed. After a few moments he takes you back to his operating room and you get onto the table. He tells you a few more details of the procedure and that the medicine will take affect soon and fast. The numbing shots hurt but not badly by any means. After that no more pain at all. I remained awake until he had reviewed my right side and he remarked "bet you had no trouble getting pregnant with your children" I was less than a year from my original vasectomy and just did not like the fact it was permanent so hearing his good news put me at ease. That's the last thing I remember until I was sitting in a wheelchair with Dr Daniels himself taking me to my car. Procedure went well with all variables in my favor.

I am writing this review as the patient and it is day 3 after my surgery. It is important to note that I have worked in healthcare for 15 years and specialize in healthcare quality and safety. This is both a good thing and a bad thing when you are the patient. I was very nervous about the procedure, given all that I know about healthcare.
My experience was absolutely wonderful. The office staff were very welcoming and professional. They presented a professional image from the beginning that made me feel more confident in my choice to have my procedure at this facility. The process was very well organized, and this also made me feel more comfortable.
Dr. Daniel did an exceptional job explaining the surgery to me. I was really impressed with the time he took to make sure all my questions were answered. I was made to feel as though I was the most important thing he had to do that day. He and the entire office staff were focused on me. I can’t say how impressed I was.
The facility was immaculate. It was clean and sanitary. I have a very critical eye for healthcare quality and I can say that this facility is maintained to very high standards. The operating room was impressive, especially for an outpatient clinic. You really get high quality service and exceptional value for your money. I have seen many outpatient surgery centers and this one was maintained and operated better than any that I have seen.
The surgery itself was painless. I followed all the instructions and have experienced very little pain afterwards. Dr. Daniel called me the day after the procedure to check on me and I thought that was very kind. My reversal was ten times better than my original vasectomy. Kudos to Dr. Daniel and his staff. I read another comment about Dr. Daniel not being a touchy/feely doctor. I experienced the opposite of this. He has a great sense of humor and that helps to soften the conversation. I would like to comment on my experience with my vasectomy reversal performed by Dr. Daniel on Jan 16th (8.5 years post vasectomy). First, I would like to say that his office staff was very professional and walked me through the initial process. I called a few times prior to the date of my procedure and they were able to answer my general questions. They ensured I understood what I needed to bring prior to the surgery and provided directions to the pharmacy to get the medications. As for Dr. Daniel, I must say I was pleased with selecting him to perform my reversal. I did my research (and I actually work at a large healthcare organization that performs the same services-ranked in the top 50 in the U.S.) and found his pricing and experience to be unmatched (by several thousand dollars). Dr. Daniel performs vasectomy reversals on a daily basis, and for him to be a Microsurgery Board Certified Urologist really put my mind at ease. As an individual that works in healthcare I truly understand and respect the importance of specialty certifications. Dr. Daniel consulted us (my wife and me) for at least 40 minutes going over the surgery in detail and answered any questions we had. I wanted to know Dr. Daniel’s honest opinion about the success rate numbers being quoted in literature and in general, and he relayed that it is person dependent and there are several factors beyond just the surgery itself. Hello everyone. I’m 10 days into my recovery and I wanted to provide feedback on what a terrific job Dr. Daniels and his team have done. I’m in Savannah, so I was really pleased to find someone with as much experience with vas reversal so close. Like many couples, our initial contacts with “fertility experts” and local urologists left us with insufficient information and a sense that we looked like an annuity stream to them. With my first visit I found the office staff friendly; and Dr. D to be very helpful, very matter of fact and a terrific listener. He was also very patient, as I had way too many questions. Once I made the decision to have him do the surgery, the process was very smooth. The team has been through this many times, they were very accommodating and it went very well. Dr. D. made sure that we were all on the same page, we all were clear about post surgery recovery and he made sure all of our questions were addressed. The surgery itself was comfortable – Dr. D. told me that I’d probably fall asleep, I was determined to stay awake … and I didn’t stand a chance. I fell asleep before anyone came into the room. Apparently I was coherent and talkative and sounded aware after the surgery on the ride home, but of course the next day I had only the most general memory. The first week my testicles were pretty swollen, there was bruising and discoloration all of which we expected. The pain was tolerable (in fact, I’ve not taken any of the pain medication). Initially, I cursed Dr. D for his “huge” sutures (I suggested that he’d be an awesome salt water fisherman for his effective knot tying and the suture material seemed industrial strength!!). Now, after 10 days, all swelling is gone, including the sutures; and all discoloration is gone. I’ve figured out the correct combination of undies (tightie whities) and walk (a teeny bowlegged) to get through my work day. I’m actually surprised that the recovery is going as well as it is. Like all of his patients, I’m sure, this 30 day moratorium on ejaculation is trying. But, it’s simply biology – the tissue has to heal and bond. It’s not as if anyone can make it go faster. I’ll come back with an update when we achieve “success”, but I wanted to get feedback posted before I got too far along and forgot. Dr. Daniels is the best choice I could have made.

In 2002 I thought I was finished having children and had the vasectomy procedure done, even thought I was only 26 years old. Fast forward and I find myself remarried to the love of my life and wanting to have a precious baby(s) with her. This is Ronald & Penny. The Surgery I had in July of last year was a success!! We are expecting our little Girl on Sept. 27th. …several months ago, my wife’s nurse practitioner gave us your number. Apparently, one of her patients had used your services with great success. On July 30, we traveled to your facility from Dandridge, Tennessee, with hopes of a successful surgery in your office the following day. Upon speaking with your office, I was immediately comfortable. Our story is unique. My husband had a vasectomy seven years ago, before we had met. Shortly after, he had testicular cancer and had one testicle removed. We had been told by a well-respected urologist that a vasectomy reversal would be a waste of time, and maybe we could try IVF, but overall, we had little chances of conceiving.
